Lavish champagne bar and drinking den Lily’s opened its doors to the public at the end of last year, an extension of British classic restaurant 1761 housed underground in the former Avalanche unit on Booth Street.

Named after Lily Bollinger, renowned owner of Bollinger champagne, the bar is luxurious to the hilt, and reportedly cost more than £1 million to kit out.

Based around the notion of the ‘Golden Era’, Lily’s has been created with the express intention of offering guests a place to lose themselves, hedonistically speaking.

Inside you’ll find a cavernous interior fitted with plush leather Chesterfields and low ambient lighting that maximises the effect of a £300,000 marine ecosystem filled to the brim .

But what of the drinks, you ask.

Drinks take the theme of ‘a moment in time’, with each concoction inspired by a story from the past. For example, one drink on the menu is inspired by an early form of penicillin discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928.

Lily’s also offer a series of cocktail masterclasses as part of their private hire packages, giving you and your guests the opportunity to have some fun getting to grips with an under-the-sea style of mixology.

Choose from three tiered packages, depending on whether you’d like to focus on drinks or enjoy some food, too. Options available are Principal, Signature and Premium and are priced between £30 & £55 per experience.

Hidden within this opulent drinking den is the intimate Lily’s Library, an extra-secret, extra-special drinking den kitted out with its own 500-gallon fish tank, projector and fireplace.

Perfect for your next poker game, soiree, conference or engagement drinks, the space accommodates groups of up to 30 at a time and can be booked to include bespoke canapé and cocktail packages. If you’re looking to tie your evening in with a proper sit-down meal, 1761 upstairs offers more space for private dining.

The premier space is available for complimentary room hire to groups of over 40 for events during the week with bespoke food and drink packages available on request.
