‘Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow’

9 November @ 10:00 - 19:30

From £5
Yesterday, today - manchester transport

A festival to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Britain’s buses, which started in Greater Manchester in 1824

Come and see 200 years of Britain’s buses come to life, as the Museum of Transport and Bee Network celebrate the 200th anniversary since John Greenwood of Salford started the country’s first ever bus service.

Free vintage bus services will link the Museum with Shudehill Interchange, Central Park Metrolink stop and Grand Lodge in Prestwich; and at the museum there’ll be quizzes and games, a modern Zero Emissions bus to inspect, and you can even try your hand as a Metrolink driver on Bee Network’s computer Driver Simulator. Some of the museum’s vintage and classic buses will be open to step aboard, and there’ll even be virtual reality goggles to try out.

On Saturday the free bus service will run until after 7 pm, so you can take a ride back in time in the dark.

There’ll be quizzes and a treasure hunt, and it’ll be a family day out while finding out about where buses have come from, how they are now and a peep into the bright Bee Network future.
