After an incredible £1 million renovation, The Footage will re-open as The Grosvenor next month, promising a cutting-edge hybrid hospitality and social space like no other.
Acquired by an independent operator for just £1, this iconic venue is now set to become the ultimate playground for adults, offering a larger-than-life experience right in the heart of the city.
Originally built as the Grosvenor Picture Palace, the venue has been a cinema, bingo hall, and most recently, the student-favourite pub, The Footage. Now, in 2024, it returns as a spacious entertainment hub with 30 beer taps, pool tables, beer pong, darts, and more.
The Grosvenor
Built between 1913 and 1915, the Grosvenor Picture Palace was originally the largest cinema outside London and has since taken on numerous identities, from a bingo hall and snooker venue to, most recently, a legendary student pub, The Footage.
Now in 2024, the doors will open again as an adult playground where visitors can expect to find an immersive concept with over 30 beer taps and filled with pool tables, beer pong tables, and a photobooth to capture the memories–continuing its iterations as a legendary entertainment venue for over 100 years.
Whether it’s bottomless brunch, after-work drinks, or a night out with friends, The Grosvenor will cater to every crowd.
Opening hours
Open from noon until midnight, with extended hours until 2am on weekends, it’s the ultimate spot for Manchester’s socialites.
Sports fans can also rejoice, as the venue will stream all major games while the stage hosts live music, interactive quizzes, and legendary Manchester club nights.
Great food
Foodies are in for a treat, too.
The Grosvenor’s food offering will include a range of crowd-pleasing options such as huge sharers, buckets of wings, loaded pizzas, and stacked burgers.
The drinks menu will feature many local craft beers on draught and a substantial canned range, premium spirits, alcohol-free options, plus show-stopping cocktails.
The drinks menu is equally impressive, with local craft beers, alcohol-free options, and show-stopping cocktails to elevate any night out.

“Our vision is to combine the best of a sports bar, social venue, and nightclub all in one, creating an unforgettable space where memories are made.
“We’re breathing new life into this iconic building and can’t wait for everyone to come and enjoy it.”
