An evening of sustainable fashion at RHS Garden Bridgewater
Horti-CULTURED: Growing a sustainable future together – will be an exciting new event taking advantage of the brighter evenings as we move into summer. It will include an exhibition and stunning fashion show as well as a chance to enjoy the tranquil beauty of the gardens after hours.
The exhibition in the historic Potting Sheds will stage work by BA Fashion and Promotion students from the University of Salford. The students have been working with some of the gardeners at Bridgewater to explore how they stamp their own personal style on their work uniforms The project is brought to life with photographs and video and students will be on hand to chat to visitors about the project.
The evening will culminate in a catwalk show with a difference brought to you by Manchester Fashion Movement. The fashion show will be a journey of self expression referencing excess through to more considered choices and of course celebrating independent northern creatives who champion better fashion habits.
With food and drink on offer from the Shepherds Hut and the Stables Cafe, guests can enjoy refreshments in the evening sun and then take a front row seat to watch a fashion show with a difference. After the fashion show, the DJ will continue playing tunes until the evening comes to a close at 9pm so there will be plenty of time to mingle and enjoy the beauty of the garden after hours.
