Join us for an intimate night of song and stories from 10cc’s Graham Gouldman in our beautiful Grade II listed synagogue, as he takes us on a journey through his musical repertoire.
Graham Gouldman rose to early fame as a member of 1960s band The Mockingbirds. But by the time the group disbanded in 1966, Graham’s ability as a songsmith had moved centre stage, with hits for Wayne Fontana, Herman’s Hermits, The Yardbirds, The Hollies and Jeff Beck. After a spell song-writing in the United States, he returned to the UK and co-founded 10cc in 1972, co-writing a string of hits such as Rubber Bullets, I’m Not In Love, The Things We Do for Love and Dreadlock Holiday.
Now, Graham is coming to Manchester Jewish Museum for an evening of musical joy with a rich repertoire of his best songs. After the concert, he will be joined by the museum’s curator Alex Cropper, for a conversation about growing up and making music in Manchester.
As part of the evening event, visitors will also receive a welcome drink and Sephardi mezze plate from our award-winning café. There will also be an opportunity to meet Graham after the show and have your photograph taken with the artist.

The recent tragic events in Israel and Gaza have shocked and impacted everyone in our communities, including ourselves here at the museum. Recent months have seen fewer people coming through our doors and concern from parents has seen many schools cancel their planned visits, which has had a significant impact on our income. Despite these challenges, we continue to create opportunities for people to come together to explore their similarities and differences and to allow much needed dialogue.
2024 will be a very special year for all of us at the museum. Our Spanish and Portuguese synagogue turns 150 years old and we’ll be celebrating with an exciting programme of events, a new temporary exhibition and a new menu in our vegetarian Cafe. Your support means we’ll able to welcome even more people through our doors and share this special moment with all of our communities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The recommended age guidance for this show is 16+.
The event will begin at 6PM for the concert to begin at 7PM. The event will finish at approximately 9PM. The show is 1 hour long, followed by a 30 minute conversation between Graham and the museum’s curator Alex Cropper. After the show there will be an opportunity to have your picture taken and get Graham’s signature on albums.
