Bonfire Night celebrations in Manchester get longer every year. We’ve put together a list of Greater Manchester’s top events for firework festivities this weekend. Alongside the most popular bonfire celebrations across the city, we’ve found some smaller, community-based events for those of you that don’t fancy battling the crowds. Don’t forget to wrap up warm and stay safe.
Thursday 3rd November
Prince’s Park, Irlam
Starting the celebrations early with their free entry fireworks display, Prince’s Park in Irlam open up their funfair at 6pm before the bonfire is lit at 7pm. Fireworks will hit the skies at 7.30pm.

Friday 4th November
Ordsall Park
Salford City Council have added a twist to their firework show this year with a lantern parade. Inspired by the 150th anniversary of the first meeting of the Salford Trades Council, a trail of lanterns will make its way from Ordsall Community Arts on Robert Hall Street and will end in a firework show at Ordsall Park at 7.15pm

Saturday 5th November
Heaton Park
The daddy of all Bonfire Night celebrations. Manchester’s biggest firework display in Heaton Park is set to thrill once again this bonfire night. Gates open at 5pm with a booming fun fair to entertain the whole family. The bonfire is set to be lit at 7:30pm and will warm visitors throughout the spectacular fireworks display to follow. Entry to Heaton Park is free, but get there early to avoid queues.

Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield
Platt Fields Park will be full of food stalls and fun fair activities to excite visitors from 5pm this Saturday. The bonfire will be lit at 7:30pm and will be followed by a firework display.

Wythenshawe Park
The stunning open parkland in south Manchester provides the perfect location for a firework display this bonfire night. The traditional event features a funfair and a bonfire with fireworks beginning at 7.30pm.

Stretford Cricket Club
From a bottle bar and curry to a kiddies tuck shop and hotdogs, Stretford Cricket Club’s bonfire celebrations are fit for all ages. The bonfire will be lit at 5.30pm with fundraising events throughout evening whilst the firework displays take place at 7pm and then again at 8pm

Horse & Jockey, Chorlton
One of south Manchester’s most popular firework displays is at the Horse and Jockey in Chorlton which starts at 7pm with a children’s firework display on Chorlton Green followed by an outdoor BBQ and bar all night. There’s a second display for grown-ups at 9pm.

Abbotsfield Park, Flixton
The gates open at 5.30pm on this community bonfire with an evening of entertainment featuring fire spinners and a magical firework display. The show is a ticketed event, costing £5 for adults and £3.50 for under 16s and OAPs with all proceeds going to Urmston Lions Charity Fund

Buile Hill Park, Salford
Following Salford’s first bonfire event in Irlam, Salford City Council have even more to offer with another family friendly firework display at Buile Hill Park at the weekend. The traditional celebrations will see the bonfire lit at 7pm. A fun fair packed full of food stalls serving up hotdogs, candy floss and burgers

Sunday 6th November
intu Trafford Centre
The north west’s biggest free firework display returns to intu Trafford Centre with more than 10,000 people expected to descend on Barton Square. More than 2,000 bursts will light up the night sky at the event after four-year-old Archie Brown presses the button to start the show at 6.30pm. Archie is one of the many children supported by Once Upon A Smile, a partner charity of intu Trafford Centre, that supports those who have suffered the loss of a parent or sibling.
