Summer of Love festival to take over a disused Manchester warehouse

This August, Summer Of Love is set to be Animal Crossing’s most ambitious project yet, with a diverse line-up of international artists, extensive arts and wellness programmes, and an onsite record fair and food market.

Francesco del Garda and Evan Baggs will be bringing the heat and taking over the special guest slot, while the stage designs have expanded for this year’s event with added partners making this a northern powerhouse of fun in the sun, say organisers.

Hosted by Foundation FM, the Summer Of Love will also feature talks, panels, and workshops on both days of the event.

Running from 12pm – 5pm, they’ll cover topics around diversity in music, talks with promoters, and the life of a touring DJ.

The offering aims to add some more depth to an intricate event that arcs back to the 90s rave scene.

Taking place across the wellness area the informative talks will host some titans of industry from DJs like tINI chatting through the tINI & The Gang parties, to promoters like Kurt Hurst from Hide & Seek festival offering insight into a world that few know about.

Expect other talks from slapfunk, Yoyaku and Olli Ryder, founder of Summer Of Love.

Further chats will revolve around music mastering, NFTs, touring DJs, and more.

Workshops include spoken word, live art and the mighty drum circle run by Smolensky Gallery.

“To expand on the community-based elements of the festival was always key for us progressing into year two, the heart and soul of the experiences comes from all the little extra communication points,” says founder Olli.

“For us to be working with so many amazing partners across the musical and experiential programming fills you with delight for the summer ahead.”

Tickets are on sale here with early birds starting at £40 for the day, and the festival will take place from 27th – 28th August 2022.
