A hidden screening room, located underneath an old bank? Sounds like the perfect space for a series of spooky Halloween screenings.
Film fans can head to King Street Townhouse’s converted underground cellar screening room this month to catch seriously intimate showings of some classic scary films over Halloween.
The boutique hotel will be showing classics including The Shining, one of the best horror films ever made, Stephen King’s IT plus a special 40th anniversary screening of John Carpenter’s 1978 original slasher film Halloween.
There will also be more family-friendly matinee screenings for anyone with little ones in tow or who – like me – can’t quite stomach anything seriously scary. The PG-friendly line-up includes Hotel Transylvania, Disney Pixar’s critically-acclaimed Coco – inspired by the Mexican day of the dead festival – and Monster House.
Running between 25th October and Sunday 3rd November, matinee screenings are priced at £15 per person and include soft drinks, popcorn and pick n mix. Evening screenings are adults only and priced at £31.50 per person, which includes mulled cider or wine, popcorn and a special trick or treat pick n mix.
