Baby grand hotel King Street Townhouse and former Victorian school house Great John Street are both warm and inviting retreats in the hustle and bustle of Manchester’s cosmopolitan city centre.

Showcasing soft lighting and lavish decor and offering stunning views across the city from their rooftop terraces, the hotels are both great choices for that much-needed spot of post-shopping relaxation.

As they gear up for the summer months, the boutique hotels have partnered with Harrogate’s award-winning Slingsby Gin to offer guests a quintessentially English tea combining two of our favourite things: afternoon tea and gin-a-plenty.

Their Afternoon Teas are already hugely popular, but group executive head chef Mattieu Nicolia believes that the introduction of tea-infused gins adds another level to the experience.

The team at Eclectic have spent time working with Slingsby to devise the perfect tea-infused concoctions to complement their lovely nibbles, so you can rest assured that your love of juniper will be satisfied.

For £33 you’ll indulge in traditional delicate finger sandwiches alongside home made cakes and scones with clotted cream and preserves, all served on the piece de resistance three tier stand alongside a glass teapot of Slingsby’s tea-infused gin.

If you’re not a fan of gin, you can still enjoy Eclectic’s delicious traditional Afternoon Tea without gin for £24 served with as much tea and coffee as you need to fuel the gossip.
