Have you ever fancied solving a crime? Imagine this.

One of your friends has been wrongfully imprisoned in a maximum security ward. Can you infiltrate the prison and help them break free? You have just one hour before the warden comes back off his lunch break. Find his swipe card and escape or you will all be incarcerated.

All the information you’ll need is in the room for you to extract, whilst a TV screen peeking out at you from the corner counts down the remaining time you have left before it’s game-over.

Do you think you can do it? The escape rate is 50% so you’ve got a 50/50 chance of succeeding.

If you’ve ever fancied yourself as a detective, Infiltrate is the game for you.  It requires a decent amount of out-of-the-box analysis and will push your group to the limit of their lateral thinking abilities. Every now and again, usually when you’re looking a little bit lost, a siren sounds and a hint or clue will appear on the screen to point you in the right direction.

A great team-building activity, Breakout tests your puzzle-solving abilities and forces you to work together to escape from the prison in one piece against the dramatic backdrop of a ticking clock. You’re not completely on your own, though, as Breakout provides a game operator to oversee every game, keeping you safe and giving you a bit of help along the way when you get stuck.

Working in teams of two and five people, first you must choose your room – these are listed online and rated 1-5 in terms of difficulty, with 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest – before picking an arrival time and booking your session.

Infiltrate is a great entry level game for beginners to play with only a 2/5 difficulty level.

There are lots of other games to choose from with varying levels of difficulty levels, so no matter what your group ability is there’s sure to be a game to suit you all.

So, next time you’re looking for something a bit different to do, escape reality for an hour and immerse yourself in this mind-bending, game-changing experience. With two sites in Manchester offering 14 different games, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
