Thousands of pounds’ worth of burgers, cocktails and milkshakes are being given away at intu Trafford Centre’s student night next month.

In what is said to be the UK’s biggest ever student treasure hunt, more than 1,000 vouchers for free food and drink worth more than £5,000 are being hidden all around the centre ready for students to discover.

Vouchers will be hidden in discreet spots around the centre, meaning students will have a mission on their hands to ensure they grab a freebie.

Top tips include keeping an eye out by the centre’s decorative fountains, looking high and low amongst the hundreds of ornate planters and even seeking help at the many information pods on the malls.

With brands including Five Guys, Carluccio’s, The Shake Lab, Boost, Yang Sing Cathay, Barburrito, Giraffe, Oh You Pretty Thing! and Starbucks all offering free meals and refreshments, the centre is set to be flooded with hungry shoppers on the hunt for a treat.

The centre’s 200 retailers will also be laying on an incredible evening of discounts with up to 30% off, plus entertainment and prizes exclusively for students including free bags from Dune, vouchers from Boux Avenue and much more.

Shoppers looking for a free makeover on the night can choose from brands such as Makeup Forever, Urban Decay and Too Faced from Debenhams, complimentary chrome nail art from Nailista, plus expert beauty advice and demonstrations from Marks & Spencer.

GAP is launching a Pop-up Denim Addict Station for students seeking personalised fashion with alterations, badges and other customisation services.

Restaurants are also laying on exclusive student night entertainment such as a Spin to Win game at Barburrito and Wagamama plus tasty food give-aways at Wokooshi and Yang Sing Cathay.

Leisure attractions including Laser Quest, The Rock and Paradise Island Adventure Golf will host challenges, competitions and freebies throughout the evening.

Caroline Aikman, the centre’s marketing manager, said: “This year’s student night has taken an exciting twist with a combination of fantastic retailer offers across the latest fashion, shoes, accessories and more plus the added excitement of a huge, interactive treasure hunt!

“intu is passionate about putting on events with a difference and hopefully the thousands of students discovering free cocktails, burgers and other tasty treats will leave the centre with smiles on their faces.”

It all takes place on Tuesday 3 October from 6-10pm. Students are encouraged to sign up and head to the centre early to avoid disappointment.
