Celebrated Manchester steak restaurants Grill on the Alley and Grill on New York Street have been serving up a feast for hungry customers and now – after ten glorious years – they will mark the occasion with an interior refresh and the launch of a stellar new food and drink menu.

As a result, Grill on the Alley will close on Monday 3rd April and reopen on Sunday 9th April, while Grill on New York Street will be closing in May for a fortnight.

Crowd favourites are all there as the new menu focuses on a return to Blackhouse roots with steak and seafood dishes leading the way. And for good measure there will also be a presentation of the ‘Book of Beef’ – an in-house guide to everything you need to know about beef and beyond.

Classic cuts are mixed with a more premium selection including English Galician, Wagyu and an Australian fillet and, of course, the Big Boy cuts the restaurant is famed for.

There is also the introduction of The Butchers Block – Himalayan rock salt aged beef, cut and weighed at your table – which will undoubtedly be the new talking point.

Extra emphasis has been placed on new, high quality seafood dishes like seared sashimi tuna and whole baked seabass fillets while the menu maintains its lobster options.

“We are really excited about our refresh in Grill on the Alley and Grill on New York Street,” said Blackhouse MD, Scott Grimbleby.

“Our new food and cocktail menus are the biggest change we have seen for a number of years in Blackhouse and part of a bigger plan to refresh the brand, maintaining the restaurants’ position as the ‘old favourite’ – somewhere our guests can hunker down, chat freely, feel comfortable and really enjoy the great food, drink and experience.

“Nowhere is this more pertinent than The Grill on the Alley which has been a bastion of the Manchester dining scene for the past 10 years.”
