Manchester has its fair share of sports teams and probably more bars than just about any other city in the country, so you’d think finding an authentic sports bar would be a simple task. But no matter how many pubs you visit, none of them can quite replicate the atmosphere that the modern sports bar has to offer.

The winner of the Best Sports Bar Category at the Great British Pub Awards 2014 for the north west, The Green is one of Manchester’s most exciting sports bars.  Located just a stone’s throw away from Piccadilly Station and a few streets over from some of Northern Quarter’s trendiest bars, you’d be pushed to find a better place to watch TV sport than this place. So how come you haven’t heard of it?

There’s plenty of live sport from the likes of BT and Sky plus a late license which means they show international events such as the boxing and UFC, too.

With enough room for 400 people, a great atmosphere is guaranteed. And with 19 television sets and 8 mega screens for your viewing pleasure – that’s 27 in total – a great view of the action is guaranteed.

They also serve fresh food daily and offer karaoke, pool, foosball, music, great food and a canal-side beer garden – an excellent sun trap in the summer months. For gamers, they also have a an Xbox with the latest FIFA set up and they can even host corporate and party events if you want to get a little more.

And if that’s still not enough, they’re also the only bar in Manchester to have their own indoor golf centre with a state-of-the-art Full Swing Golf Simulator that even Tiger Woods has in his own home. That’s not all though, because if you feel like your game is a bit rusty then The Green even has its own pro golfer on hand to give you lessons, starting from just £10.

As well as screening domestic sports such as football, rugby, cricket and golf, The Green also showcases sporting events from around the globe, including the increasingly popular American Football, one of the fastest growing sports in the country. So much so that come Sunday 5th February, thousands of Mancs will be staying up to the early hours just to catch the Super Bowl.

Dubbed “the world’s biggest sporting event,” you can catch all the action live from Houston, as the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots battle it out to be crowned Super Bowl 51 champions. The game will be shown on 12ft screens at The Green Sports Bar and each entry ticket includes a drink as well as USA-themed food till late. What more could you ask for?

So if you’re looking for the best live sports, amazing bar staff and an atmosphere unlike any other in Manchester, then get yourself down to The Green and let the good times roll.
