In the spirit of World Breastfeeding Week, which is celebrated every year from 1st to 7th August and is all about promoting the benefits of the practice, we thought we’d let you in on a little-known fact.
If you’re a breastfeeding mum, you can go to Lunya and get a free drink any time you like. What’s the catch, you ask? There isn’t one.
As a mother of three who breastfed all her children, owner Elaine decided to introduce the policy from day one in order to support breastfeeding mums and ensure they felt comfortable feeding at the restaurant.
“From the first day we opened we have offered all breastfeeding mothers a free drink in our restaurant,” she says.
“We want them to feel welcome, comfortable and happy whilst they are feeding their baby. We get a lot of positive feedback about this from all our customers and we’re proud of our commitment in this respect.”
The family-owned restaurant may have won multiple awards, but owners Peter and Elaine Kinsella still pride themselves on creating a relaxed ‘home from home’ environment for guests to enjoy great food without pomp or pretension: just like in Spain.
Situated in the stunning Barton Arcade, Lunya is a great place to enjoy a family lunch or dinner.
There’s a great children’s menu on offer with a new, carefully selected collection of child-friendly tapas – including a selection of Lunya’s famous, authentic, specially imported Spanish and Catalan meats.
The restaurant is also happy for children to order items from the a la carte menu that can be served in a smaller portion.
Lunya’s lunchtime menu is a great value option for family-friendly lunches over summer. Get two tapas for £9.95, or a deli sandwich and homemade chips for the same price.
