Sankeys in Manchester have announced a very special show taking place, with the legendary Danny Tenaglia touching down for a 6 hour marathon set on Friday 22nd August.
“Sankeys has been trying to bring Danny Tenaglia
back to Manchester for some time now…”
This is a one-off special from the iconic club, before it releases its full programming soon for September onwards.
Tribal Sessions legend Danny Tenaglia returns to Sankeys for the first time in 7 years.
There are very few DJs in the world who have had such a significant impact on dance music history as Tenaglia, and Manchester’s legendary club has managed to lock down the revered selector for a very rare and exclusive 6 hour marathon set, his only UK date of the summer.
Tenaglia’s history with the club goes back many years, and he is heralded as one of the true icons whose extended odysseys there are the stuff of legend and lore in the city. Sankeys’ manager Paul Fletcher explains:
“Sankeys has been trying to bring Danny Tenaglia back to Manchester for some time now, and when the opportunity became available, we just knew we had to open to club specially for him. This is going to be an amazing show for everyone to experience, one we just could not resist doing!”
The New Yorker will be joined alongside original Tribal resident and eclectic tastemaker, Greg Vickers, who has just recorded his 3rd Essential Mix in Ibiza for BBC Radio 1. Upstairs in Spektrum is the chance to see current Tribal resident Darius Syrossian up close and personal; he has just released the Sankeys 20th anniversary CD, with the first mix entirely his own productions, and the second some of the tunes which have defined the club through its entire history.
Darius is also playing a special 6 hour marathon set at this show, spanning across house and techno. He is also going to be part of Sankeys’ autumn plans when the club announces its full season of programming soon, with Tribal Sessions returning and Darius continuing as its resident, applying his own unique sound to the club.
Sankeys remains one of the true bastions of electronic music culture; celebrating its 20th anniversary throughout 2014, the club now operates in Ibiza and New York, and is a peerless celebration of dance music culture.
