The Blue Pig, the popular Northern Quarter bar which closed in January, is to re-open next month under new ownership.
It has been bought by Mark Andrew Developments, owners of other Northern Quarter favourites Hula, Walrus and Tusk and recently launched Ibiza-inspired mega bar, Lazy Lizard.
The Blue Pig will have a mini-refurbishment and open its doors in early April under its existing name. It will have new menus, but the new bosses are promising to bring back the much-loved Sunday roasts, local ales and craft beers.
MAD’s creative team are currently putting the final touches on new menus, entertainment concepts and interiors for the venue.
“The Blue Pig is a much-loved Northern Quarter staple with a loyal customer base,” said MAD Ltd managing director Mark Andrew.
“We don’t need to make much in the way of change but we want to add our signature MAD twist. So we’ll be giving the interiors a refresh, but we are committed to honoring what The Blue Pig is all about, so you’ll still find a tasty food menu, exceptional Sunday roasts and a great drinks menu to include quality wines, local pale ales and craft beers.”
It will soft launch with Pop Up Pig, a four day party event over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
