Spring is nearly here and what better way to welcome the new season than with the launch of a day menu at Manchester House.
“…spectacular, wrap-around views of the Manchester skyline.”
This time it’s in the fabulous floor 12 bar area known as The Lounge and making the most of its terraces and varied table seating at a fraction of the price and time it takes to go to experience the proper culinary experience.
Boasting four covered/heated outside terraces, with retractable roofs for warm Summer days, which can be hired for private gatherings, The Lounge also offers spectacular, wrap-around views of the Manchester skyline.
Open throughout the day for business meetings, a leisurely coffee or something a bit/lot stronger, The Lounget has launched a new day menu with lunch available between 12pm and 6pm, Tuesday – Saturday for those who fancy a lighter bite but are still keen to experience the talents of Aiden Byrne’s kitchen team.
Prices are from £9, all served with duck fat chips, we tucked into a Swiss Cheese Burger (£12.50) delicious but a little on the petite side and frankly doesn’t suit, a Poached Salmon and Hollandaise Sandwich (£9) very moist and the biggest and best of the lot; a colourful Club Sandwich (£10).
All good but it’s really the venue that is the icing on the cake. Although, just to make sure, we had Cream Tea (£12) for pudding. Scrumptious scones or should that be ‘scons’ with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Yummy, no butter though, which is what Yorkies expect.
In fact you can go the full monty with Afternoon Tea at £25 per person or £35 per person with champers.
All gorgeous the only down side is if you wear a thick jumper, like Chris Greenhouse, the Greenhalgh effect of all that glass can leave you a little glowing.
