Whether it’s the keys you left in the office, a parcel that needs picking up, or the outfit you’ve still not bought for tonight’s hot date, sometimes you can never find the time to get the things you desperately want – or need.
Thankfully, there’s now an app that can help you. Shopronto is a brand-new Manchester-based delivery service that will pick up and deliver absolutely anything you want or need from any Manchester store – in under 60 minutes. You name it, they’ll deliver it.
It’s the brainchild of Waleed Ajmal, a 22 year old Mancunian, who believes the service is exactly what many people need in their busy lives.
“Shopronto does all the legwork for you, bringing you what you want, when you want, where you want. Whether it’s beers delivered to your home before the match finishes, a last minute outfit, your keys or a parcel couriered somewhere – we’ve got you covered.”
Launching just in time for Christmas, the unique service can help with any last minute purchases and buy you some much-needed time during the busy festive period. Unlike other home delivery apps such as Deliveroo, Shopronto’s main selling point is that it can deliver absolutely anything within reason in less than an hour.
Despite his years, the young entrepreneur is already showing signs of being an astute businessman in what is his very first venture. Another major coup he’s managed to pull off is the fact that Shopronto delivers up to six miles from Manchester city centre – further than other delivery apps currently on the market.
Delivery fees are just £2.50 for purchases from shops that are already signed up to Shopronto, whilst those which have yet to sign up will incur delivery fees starting at £3.95.
Items can be delivered by foot, bicycle and car, with size and weight not an issue as long the item being delivered is appropriate to the mode of transport. You can track your delivery status and there’s an option to split payment with up to five people.
“Manchester is a thriving city of students, professionals and all round time-strapped people,” says Waleed. “We wanted to create a service that would make people’s lives that little bit easier. As a Law student in the middle of exams, I’d often have times where I desperately needed something picking up, like a birthday present but just didn’t have the time.
“If I’d had Shopronto I could have taken care of the whole thing remotely, without leaving the library. This is where the idea came from.”
Not one to rest on his laurels, he is already working on some big plans for Shopronto including 24 hour operation and creating his own stock lines.
Whatever his plans are for Shopronto, we can relax in the knowledge that someone else has got our backs – even when we don’t.
