This Thursday, (22nd May) Screenfields will be serving up the perfect blend of romantic drama and fast-paced tragedy with the 1980’s classic, Cocktail.

The film that probably inspired most of the bar staff in Manchester.

Starring American heartthrob Tom Cruise, the picture follows a young man who takes up bartending to earn enough to live and let live in the bright lights of New York City, not without a few scuffles and passionate encounters along the way.

With a toe-tapping soundtrack including Starship’s ‘Wild Again’, and Little Richard’s ‘Tutti Frutti’, it’s a recipe not to be missed. Tickets are purchased on the evening for £3 with double deckchairs available at an extra cost.

The Screenfields 2014 season encompasses a broad range of films, from action movies and rom-coms to pure nostalgia, with firm favourites The Goonies, Coming to America and Dirty Dancing included in the line-up. The full schedule can be found on the Spinningfields website.

Members of newly-opened The Lawn Club will have free access to screenings throughout the summer, as well as a number of additional benefits, including invites to VIP events, and discounts on food.

The summer programme of events has always proved a massive draw at Spinningfields, attracting over 100,000 people down to the estate last year. The award-winning Lawns, with The Long Bar and new additions The Lawn Club, Wholesome and Raw and Green Griddle, offers the perfect space to meet friends, socialise and enjoy the sunshine.
