Back in the day Barca was known for being a vital part of the Manchester scene and it’s safe to say that it is back and better than ever!
“…distinguished surroundings next to the canal are perfect for a party… one big party!”
Situated in the gorgeous Castlefield area of Manchester, the brilliant location and distinguished surroundings next to the canal are perfect for a party and that’s exactly what the relaunch of Barca was, one big party!
With the outdoor area filling up quickly and the gorgeous Belvedere vodka and Moët champagne cocktails flowing, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed a range of different shisha’s to be tried and canapes with a twist in the form of take out boxes filled with Chinese chow mein or Spanish paella, something that went down very well alongside all the dancing and drinking! As the night went on, entertainment came in the form of different DJ’s and live bands including the one and only Peter Hook who had the crowd going crazy for his DJ set.
Bands included The Tapesty who had the entire venue jumping along with them as if they were at a festival and this was before the sun had even gone down! The electric atmosphere continued with sets from the talented Danny Mahon, Blind Arcade, The Last Party and The Watchmakers and DJ sets from Manchester legends 808 State and Bez.
The crowds continued to grow with everyone having a brilliant time, guests included Harry Potter star David Bradley enjoying the atmosphere and raved that ‘the entire night has been brilliant!’ Happy Mondays front women Rowetta turned up in style in a pale blue Rolls Royce wearing a stunning custom made dress by Sofia Couture, plus Howard Marks (aka Mr Nice) thought the venue was something quite special!
The party continued into the small hours and ended with Stone Roses legend Ian Brown and Mani turning up from their film premier and announcing that ‘Manchester is the place to be’ and last night at Barca it really was!
