Avalanche marks the return of Italian food to the building where it all started in Manchester. Isola Bella was the first Italian restaurant in the city. Now Avalanche is bringing high-end Italian cuisine back to the same venue in the heart of the Italian Quarter between Albert Square and King Street.

The Booth Street building also used to house Lime Bar. But whereas Lime Bar’s decor was very dark, now it is light, bright and luxurious. The interior has been designed to create a relaxed atmosphere which conjures up memories of long lazy lunches by the sea during the day, and which at night emulates the fine dining establishments of Paris and Monte Carlo. The beauty and grace of the restaurant is encapsulated in Avalanche’s grand chandelier which is 100 kilos of bespoke, hand crafted crystal and crowns those walking along the stairway.

‘Classic Italian dishes
are executed with
style and flair’

Avalanche specialises in fish and seafood courses such as fresh halibut baked in the oven and served on baby spinach and topped with creamy butter sauce and king prawns and lobster, king prawns risotto cooked in red wine with cherry tomatoes and parmesan shavings.

Classic Italian dishes are executed with style and flair and sit alongside dishes that have been given a modern twist. Apart from enjoying a mouth watering menu whilst relaxing in the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant, customers can also enjoy drinking in one of three bars. The drinks selection is impressive with a range of well- chosen Italian wines that complement the dishes perfectly and a cocktail selection to die for. Choose from popular classics and delightful Italian offerings like sgropino and bicicleta.
