New subterranean pan-Asian dining concept coming to Oxford Road

Hello Oriental, a new venture from the group behind Manchester restaurant Ocean Treasure, has announced plans for a city first with the opening of a new market hall and dining destination at Circle Square.

Bearing the same name as the recently launched online supermarket, Hello Oriental will be open daily from 10am to 11pm, and DJs and live music will make the space a destination every weekend after its launch later this year.

It will be subterranean, with its three floors built underneath the soon to be open Symphony Park in the heart of Circle Square. 

The venue’s focal point will be a market hall that will serve everything from Chinese roast meats and dim sum to East Asian street food.

This will be complemented by a modern Chinese bakery and on-site supermarket, which will sell all of the international products and ingredients that are cooked fresh on-site, allowing customers the opportunity to cook, try and taste Hello Oriental’s food at home.

“When we launched Hello Oriental as an online supermarket 12 months ago, that was only the start of our journey,” said Ricky Yip, owner of Hello Oriental.

“We also wanted to deliver the very best Asian and oriental produce to our customers in Manchester, but we needed a flagship venue that would bring our vision to life. 

 “It was clear to us that Circle Square is the perfect place for us, a new city neighbourhood that is bringing people together and creating a really thriving community.

“We can’t wait to launch Hello Oriental this year and we’re confident that our new market hall experience will be a place for food-lovers of all backgrounds to come together, socialise and enjoy the very best Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine.”

The unique venue has drawn inspiration from famous Asian dining destinations such as Bang Bang Oriental in London and 1800 Lucky in Miami.

Hello Oriental will join Canvas, a first-of-its-kind lifestyle and events space, and TRIB3, a specialist high-intensity fitness studio, when they open their doors at Circle Square later this year.
