McDonald’s has been gradually reopening its restaurants for drive-thru and walk-in, and late last month, it announced that breakfast would return to 42 of its branches.

Sadly for McMuffin fans, none were in Manchester.

Now, however, McDonald’s breakfast service is returning to high streets across the UK and Ireland, as the fast food giant has announced that all but 28 of its restaurants will start serving breakfast from 8th July.

The menu will be more limited, with no bagels, wraps or porridge at the moment, but you’ll be able to get your hands on the much loved pancakes, McMuffins and hash browns.

“We have seen such a brilliant reaction to breakfast in the first 42 restaurants, the return of the McMuffin is proving incredibly popular,” said a McDonald’s spokesperson.

“We are therefore delighted to confirm that over 1,250 restaurants will add breakfast to the menu from tomorrow morning.

“Our menu will still be limited, we will unfortunately not be serving bagels, wraps or porridge for now.”

It means in total 1,329 branches across the country will be back serving customers again – leaving just 92 still closed.

Tomorrow they are also reopening 55 more restaurants – some with breakfast. All reopen for takeaway, and some will also offer McDelivery.

This leaves just 92 of their 1421 UK and Ireland restaurants to reopen later in the year. All bar 28 will be serving breakfast from tomorrow.

The Greater Manchester restaurants reopening tomorrow, with breakfast, include Bury and Manchester Oxford Street.

The Bolton and Trafford Centre branches will reopen for takeaway tomorrow, but won’t be serving breakfast just yet.

Hours will continue to vary, and many restaurants will be opening slightly later than usual for now.

Customers are asked to use contactless payment methods and cap their spend at £25 wherever possible -and you can us the their app to view the menu, order and pay before arrival.

“Our opening hours continue to vary, the quickest way to check your local restaurant will be via the My McDonald’s App, where new users can also get a free coffee upon registration,” said a McDonald’s spokesperson.
