The Lion King returns to Manchester this year for a three month run at The Palace Theatre, and tickets are already selling fast.

Set against the vast expanses and rich colours of the African savanna, the story of Simba’s adventures will be brought to life using a cast of more than 50 actors, singers and dancers.

Masks, puppets and striking costumes all contribute to the breathtaking production, which is an experience not to be forgotten.

The musical adaptation of the Disney classic will land in the city later this year for a three month run from 22nd October 2020 until 31st January 2021.

Theatre-goers can expect to hear soundtrack favourites from the cartoon including Tim Rice and Elton John’s Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.

And producers have also worked with South African composer Lebo M on a blend of African rhythms and chorales to give the production a more authentically tribal feel.

The hugely popular adaptation for the stage has entertained more than 16 million theatre goers since it first premiered in 1999 and was seen by over 388,000 when it last visited Manchester in 2012 and 2015.

And it’s popularity hasn’t ceased – in fact, the six-time Tony award-winning show’s previous tour broke attendance records across the nation.

It is the sixth longest-running West End musical of all time.

The Lion King is at the Palace Theatre from 22nd October 2020 – 30th January 2021. Tickets are on sale now but flying out fast. For the best selection of prices and seats, remember to check midweek bookings – and if the weekend is a must, don’t forget to look at the December dates.
