Last night, the I Love Manchester crew fell into one of Manchester’s best kept secrets. Where the bar industry cats mix and mingle with the corporate elite; The Liquor Store, tucked away behind Deansgate, is the epitome of ‘cool’.
“Christmas cocktails aren’t always warm and served in a stupid mug!”
When you walk into the dimly lit bar, you’re greeted by the witty and ever so flamboyant bar staff.
We took one peek at their new winter cocktail list and knew there was no turning back. They have combined classic Christmas flavours with a boozy twist.
“Christmas cocktails aren’t always warm and served in a stupid mug! Our drinks don’t come with a deposit on the glassware…” – Danny ‘Biggsy’ Wither
We started our journey through the menu with the perfect Christmas Pudding – raisin infused Havana Especial mixed with homemade Christmas Spiced Falernum topped with a boozy brandy sauce. After this little glass over Christmas heaven, we moved on to the Marshmallow and Red Currant Sling – Toasted marshmallow and vanilla vodka served long with red currant jelly pulled through and the most excessive garnish in the world.
These were hands down some of the best Christmas cocktails ever made. Think this may be our new winter hideout!
The Liquor Store will be open Sun – Thur 4pm till 3am and Fri – Sat 12pm till 3am.
