A special Star Wars burger is coming to Almost Famous Great Northern for one day only

If there are two things we can’t help but get excited about, it’s a new Star Wars movie and a limited edition burger. And this week, you can indulge in both.

Almost Famous is a Manchester institution when it comes to burgers. And not just any burgers. We’re talking filthily fun fistfuls of meat piled high with inspired toppings from a menu that reads like a feverish dream.

Their most recent collaboration with Mughli was a cracker, the double cheeseburger topped with wonderdusted tater tots and Mughli spiced tandoori chicken – charred, spicy, tangy – drenched with signature Mughli butter chicken sauce and crispy bhaji fried onions.

And now, they’ve come up with a new special, just for the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which sees the surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron’s journey continues in the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.

The Jedi Mind Bender is a juicy double cheeseburger with a bacon, jalapeno and bacon mac patty, fried chicken, redneck sauce, red onion and jalapeno relish, bacon mayo and famous sauce.

It’s priced at £12, and is only available on Wednesday 18th December at Almost Famous Great Northern branch.

And they’ll be open until midnight – perfect if you’re lucky enough to have tickets to the premiere screening at Odeon Great Northern next door at 12.01am on Thursday.

Almost Famous Great Northern will also be showing The Force Awakens (6.45pm) and The Last Jedi (9.15pm) in the upstairs bar leading up to the midnight screening. 

But if you miss out on this one, there’s always the legendary Christmas burgers to get stuck into.

Almost Famous (Great Northern and NQ) has not one but two Christmas burgers. John Candy (£11) is a cheeseburger with a sausage patty, smoked cheddar, maple bacon, shoestring onions, bacon ketchup and bacon mayo.

Son of a Nutcracker (£15) is a cheeseburger with a sausage patty, buttermilk fried turkey and gravy, sweet spiced BBQ sauce, bacon jam, cranberry ketchup, and brandy buttered peppercorn mayo.

There are also Christmassy fries (£6) topped with cheese, shredded buttered turkey, gravy, bacon rain, cranberry and shoestring onions.

The Jedi Mind Bender burger is available on Wednesday 18th December until midnight at Almost Famous Great Northern priced £12.
