Farmacia Del Dolce – San Carlo’s 2nd Dining Concept At Selfridges

Farmacia Del Dolce (Pharmacy of Desserts), the second exclusive new dining concept from the multi-award winning San Carlo Group for Selfridges, is set to open its doors tomorrow, Thursday 28th November. The patisserie, ice cream parlour and café-bar will be located on the lower ground floor of Selfridges, Exchange Square, Manchester City Centre.

Farmacia Del Dolce has been created using light, fresh colours to offer a contemporary, informal European café experience. a varied European menu, available all day.

Serving an enticing European café menu which includes all day speciality brunches, signature mains, sandwiches, cold plates and salads, afternoon tea, freshly baked cakes, pastries, and a range of its own luxury coupes and gelato; diners will be able to call in for a hot dish, all-day brunch, a cream or champagne afternoon tea or a slice of cake and luxury home-made ice cream served with a range of fine wines, champagnes, spirits, speciality teas and coffees.

An entirely new, casual and fun dining concept from San Carlo Group, Farmacia Del Dolce has been created using light, fresh colours to offer a contemporary, informal European café experience. As with all San Carlo restaurants, attention to detail is of utmost importance, with all dishes made using only the finest ingredients.

Farmacia Del Dolce will serve a varied European menu, available all day. Brunch specialities include scrambled egg with smoked salmon, eggs benedict, eggs Norwegian and a signature ‘full English.’ Cold plates include Parma ham with figs and honey, Severn and Wye oak smoked salmon and grilled Mediterranean vegetables marinated in mint olive oil and chilli. Sandwiches include chicken schnitzel, lettuce and mayonnaise, salt beef and pickle on rye, Croque Monsieur and king prawn, rocket and lemon mayonnaise.

Mains include mussels marinière with papatine fritte (chips), ravioli lobster, the Farmacia burger, lasagne, fish cakes and Crespelle pancakes filled with ricotta and spinach. Signature salads include Caprese mozzarella, avocado and tomato with pesto dressing, tuna nicoise and beetroot and goats cheese. A viennoiserie menu includes fresh croissants, muffins, scones and pastries.

An indulgent dessert menu features a host of expertly crafted, fresh cakes, tarts, coupes and gelato. From delicately flavoured macaroons, gateaux slices, lemon meringue pie, cheesecakes, tiramisu, fruit tarts, cupcakes and mille feuille to luxury ice cream and whimsical, speciality coupe creations such as meringue and marshmallow, jelly and ice cream, chocolate nut and lemon swizzle, served in elegant, long stemmed glasses, Farmacia is sure to be a paradise for dessert lovers.

Farmacia Del Dolce will be the fourth Manchester restaurant and bar from the independently owned San Carlo Group which owns and operates eleven leading UK restaurants including the hugely popular San Carlo and San Carlo Cicchetti on Manchester’s King Street West.

Farmacia Del Dolce will open 10am – 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am – 8pm on Saturdays and from 11am – 530pm on Sundays.
