City centre Lebanese restaurants are like buses. You wait ages for one to turn up then two turn up one after the other because just a few weeks after Bakchich opened its doors on Chester Street near Manchester Met, Comptoir Libanais will open its first restaurant outside London on The Avenue in Spinningfields on Thursday 12th November.
And the good news is that Comptoir will host a soft launch from Thursday 12th to Thursday 19th November when guests will not only get the chance to be amongst the first to try its new menu, which includes a number of dishes exclusive to Manchester, but will also receive 25% off food when they book by email.
Comptoir Libanais is known for their variety of healthy, fresh and colourful Lebanese dishes at affordable prices. The chefs will be cooking on a charcoal grill, creating dishes such as lamb kofta and shish taouk both served with vermicelli rice and authentic sauces. Other dishes include freshly prepared salads with grilled spiced chicken or wholesome slow-cooked tagines served with couscous. Comptoir will be introducing two new mana’esh (Lebanese flatbread) to the menu with minced lamb and pomegranate or za’atar and olive, made to order.
The new restaurant will also be serving unique cocktails using authentic and unusual ingredients, a selection of draft and bottled beers including Casablanca and TicketyBrew as well a carefully selected range of Lebanese wines.
There are also two new mezze feast menus offering a selection of hot and cold mezze – both of which are ideal for sharing and getting a real taste of Lebanese food.
Comptoir will be open all day every day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all that’s in between. The Manchester restaurant will also be the first location to offer Lebanese spiced hot chocolate, and authentic Lebanese coffee – perfect with baklawa for an afternoon treat.
A private dining room will be available to for a more intimate dining experience with friends and family.
All dishes on the menu are available to eat in or takeaway. Comptoir offers authentic Lebanese cuisine from the comfort of your own home or desk. Office platters will also be available to order, for either delivery or collection, ranging from £8 to £12 per person.
The restaurant is also fully geared up for Christmas parties, offering two set menus: both full Lebanese spreads including a selection of mezze dishes to start and a main, with the extra course menu including a dessert of baklawa and rose mint tea.
Founder Tony Kitous said; “We’re extremely excited about opening in Manchester and showcasing the food, culture and hospitality of Lebanon. I seriously can’t wait.”
Co-owner Chaker Hanna has commented: “We’ve been bowled over by the support we have had in Manchester pre-launch. We searched hard for the perfect spot outside of London and believe we have found that in Spinningfields. We can’t wait to open the doors on the 12th.”
