Phantom of the Opera

Musical theatre fans rejoice!  Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical Phantom of the Opera is heading back to Manchester for an epic ten-week run.

The award-winning show, which tells the story of a “phantom” that haunts the Paris Grand Opera House and falls for gifted young soprano Christine, is heading back to the Palace Theatre in Manchester from March 26 to May 30 2020.

In news that sent theatre fans into something of a tizzy this morning, the Palace Theatre revealed that the original production of the musical will be returning in 2020 on their Twitter and Instagram feeds.

It last played in Manchester in 2012 for a sold out run at the Palace, winning rave reviews in the process.

The news comes as part of a major new UK tour for the Sir Cameron Mackintosh production, which will start in Leicester before also heading out to Dublin, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

The musical has been running for the past 33 years on the West End and has wowed audiences across the globe with a soundtrack that includes Lloyd Webber classics like Music of the Night, All I Ask of You, Masquerade and The Point of No Return.
