Enjoy FREE Spanish masterclasses in tapas making, street art and DJing – and learn how to pour beer like a pro

There’s a saying in the Spanish capital: “Las cañas perfectas se sirven en Madrid”. It means “The best beers are poured in Madrid”.

Well, perhaps not for too much longer because super-premium Spanish brand Mahou is coming to Manchester to show us how to master the perfect pour.

They’ll be hosting a series of Spanish mini-masterclasses at popular Manchester pub Albert’s Chop House with free beer and immersive activities ranging from photography to DJ lessons, a street art workshop and even a crash course on playing the cajon drum. There’ll also be a mini tapas making session with a Spanish chef.

And you’ll be shown how to pour like a pro. This is something the brewery takes very seriously. They’ve been been working on the perfect pour since 1891. Their first big breakthrough came in the mid-sixties when they pioneered the use of Cornelius steel kegs and taps for the very first time.

Their latest innovation is a new, three-action tap which is said to drastically reduce any margin of error when pouring. The aim is to create a creamy head that lingers down to the last sip and helps preserve the beer’s great taste from start to finish.

Mahou has been synonymous with the Madrid culinary scene for over 125 years. Now they’re teaming up with one of Manchester’s favourite spots for these events to celebrate the coming together of Spanish and British food and drink.

Classes will run every Monday for five weeks from June 24th. Each class lasts an hour and is open to a maximum of 20 guests so booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.
