If you love cocktails you’re in for a massive treat next month.

The world’s first ever cocktail vending machine is coming to Manchester as part of a national tour.

Created by The Woodsman Whisky, it’s time to try out an Old Fashioned with a very modern twist.

Whisky cocktail lovers can create the perfect serve by pulling levers and turning wheels.

But the magic that happens inside the vending machine itself remains a mystery.

Although whisky cocktails continue to rise in popularity, they aren’t the quickest of cocktails to rustle up and often taking time to get the perfect blend and taste.

Woodsman Whisky are aiming to change all that by serving up a great quality version of the legendary classic cocktail in an instant – and we can’t wait to try it!

Promising a warm, rich golden-brown appearance, the cocktail offers flavours of vanilla with hints of spice and a subtle smoky sweetness with a sweet and easy aftertaste promising no lingering smoke or whisky burn.

“Everyone loves a good Old Fashioned,” says Rod Gillies of Whyte & Mackay, “and our maple syrup version is a cracker.

“But what would make it even better is being able to get a hold of one wherever you are, on demand. So we’re stripping away the rules and complexity which sometimes surround scotch, making it quick and simple to get a brilliant drink.

“We’ll be touring the UK with the Woodsman vending machine, popping up in various cities and dispensing Old Fashioned cocktails as we go.”

The machine will serve free drinks at some of the UK’s busiest locations, promising a ‘hands on’ approach to cocktail innovation.

If you want to be one of the first people in Manchester to try out the world’s first cocktail vending machines, you’ll find it at Hatch on Oxford Road on May 10th and all that weekend.

And although an Old Fashioned might not be your go-to drink, now’s the time to broaden your horizons – and if you don’t like it, at least it was free!
