As part of the Lowry’s ongoing Edit series, artist and choreographer Joe Moran will be taking up residence in The Lowry’s gallery space.

He’ll be exploring the gap between traditional theatre and art galleries with his new show Live Creations – which will draw on his multiple experiences as a dancer, choreographer, curator and visual artist.

Working with a small team of dancers he will be creating a new performance work ‘Before We Are Dead’ – which will be seen alongside his two-screen film installation, ‘Here and Not’, created in collaboration with designer Sam Williams.

There will also be new wall pieces, drawn in spray paint.

This evolving exhibition will see him transform The Lowry Galleries into a performance-based exhibition and open studio, combining his signature spray paint works with live performance and film.

Running until the 14th April, Joe Moran and the dancers will be in residence in the galleries 30th March-1st April, and 4th-7th April. This will culminate with a final performance on 13th April.

An exciting installation for The Lowry’s spring / summer season – get ready to have your traditional perceptions challenged with this new show.

The Galleries are open Sunday to Friday from 11am and Saturday from 10am, and close daily at 5pm. Entry is free but donations are welcome.
