Staff at Booths Supermarket are busy tantalising their taste buds selecting the very best in regional food for the Independent Producers Fair to take place in Albert Square on the opening weekend of this year’s Manchester Food and Drink Festival (MFDF).

“the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the fabulous fresh produce available to people in the North West…”

The Independent Producers Fair is a first for MFDF and will take place in the Festival Hub on Albert Square from Friday 21st – Sunday 23rdSeptember.

At the core of the event is the Booths’ Regional Food Roadshow where the northern supermarket which prides itself on its ethical stance, will showcase a range of products including wine, beer, cheese and sausages all produced by independent suppliers.

Visitors will enjoy cookery demonstrations from Booths’ chef Rob Morris Lang, alongside Beer and Wine Masterclasses, and a special ‘How Well Do you Know Your Cheese Competition’.

Alongside this will be an opportunity to browse a bountiful selection of independently produced food from around the country, as artisan producers descend on Manchester for the fair. Wares from chillies, mustards and pates, to fresh vegetables, oils and cakes will all be showcased alongside Booths magnificent regional roadshow.

Edwin Booth comments: “We are proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Festival and to bring this event to Albert Square. Booths are passionate about selling the best quality goods working hard to develop partnerships with local suppliers and producers. This event will provide the perfect opportunity to showcase some of the fabulous fresh produce available to people in the North West, and available at Media City Booths.”

Festival Director Siobhan Hanley adds: “Booths are well known for the quality of their produce that they are the perfect partner for this flagship festival event. Our new partnership with Booths is one we’re particularly proud of. This event is free to attend and a key calendar date for foodies across the North West.”
