It’s time to get your scissors out and cut some eye holes in your least favourite bedsheet. Because as part of this year’s Halloween in the City festival, Manchester will be attempting to break the world record for the most ghosts gathered together in one place.

Organisers Manchester BID are not only aiming to beat the existing record of 650 ghosts in one place, they are also hoping to raise funds for the Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham’s homelessness charity the Big Change.

Hosted by Heart DJ’s Joel & Lama on Saturday 27th October, the world record attempt will officially take just five minutes – the duration of the classic Ray Parker song Ghostbusters, which will be playing in Exchange Square whilst the ghostly gathering takes place.

All aspiring ghosts need to do to take part is pre-register, with optional donations to the Big Change homelessness fund being encouraged.

Registration is free. Just £2 from each ghost could raise more than £1,500 for Manchester’s rough sleepers and homeless community this winter.

So don’t be boo-ring, register below to get your ghoul on this Halloween and show some love to Manchester’s homeless while you’re at it.
