UK’s best place to work? Not too far a cry! Las Iguanas harness their staff to increase performance. That’s the exact mentality we want to promote!

Las Iguanas, the restaurant that brings the authentic flavours of Latin America to the UK, is delighted to announce that it has received the highest accolade from Investors in People (IiP), achieving the Gold Standard award. Las Iguanas is currently one of the only restaurant brands to have achieved this award setting it firmly within the top 3.2% of liP-accredited organisations.

“It marks a major milestone in our companies 21 year history and recognises the energy, passion and sheer dedication…”

Investors in People is the leading people management standard in the UK, providing a framework for best practice and transforming business performance through people. Having maintained its highly respected IiP accreditation since 2001, it was at last year’s assessment that Las Iguanas decided last year to aim for Gold in 2012

The assessment process is rigorous. Organisations must achieve 39 evidence requirements for standard IiP accreditation; Las Iguanas was evaluated against a colossal 126 additional performance indicators to reach Gold. The review was carried out last month, with the Investors in People Assessor visiting randomly selected Las Iguanas restaurants, as well as conducting telephone interviews before the award of the Gold Standard was finally announced on 9th July.

Eren Ali, Managing Director of Las Iguanas said:

“We are thrilled at receiving IiP Gold status. It marks a major milestone in our companies 21 year history and recognises the energy, passion and sheer dedication of so many here at Las Iguanas in the pursuit of the definitive Latin American restaurant experience.

“We work hard to create meaningful, worthwhile and rewarding careers and are delighted this has been recognised. We are looking forward to the challenge of the next few years whilst we look to double the size of our business in the UK and create a further 1000 new jobs.”

Investors In People GoldThe award reflects the commitment of Las Iguanas to best practice management and development of all staff and its dedication to continuous improvement. This devotion to staff development is a direct result of the desire to provide excellent quality and service to Las Iguanas customers.’ Central to the culture of Las Iguanas restaurants is a warm and vibrant atmosphere, which is created through the energy and enthusiasm of the people who work there. The review highlighted the real desire and commitment of staff to making Las Iguanas a success and helping to create its unique atmosphere.

Las Iguanas received high praise from Veronica Parsons, Investors in People Assessor conducting the review, who stated:

‘You have created a great Latin American experience for your guests. It is also really good to see such great enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to always improve as an organisation, which should make you an exemplar not only to other organisations in your industry, but also to some of those in other industry sectors.’
