Manchester House Restaurant and Lounge opened in September 2013 with a fresh and innovative menu boasting modern British cuisine with a twist from Aiden Byrne – the youngest (and possibly the most innovative) chef to earn a Michelin star. Aiden has an impressive track record and continues to experiment with new menu ideas.

Manchester House is located centrally on two floors of Tower 12 in Avenue North Spinningfields. The restaurant is situated on the second floor with Aiden and his team on view in an open kitchen at the centre of the action. The 12th floor is a lounge bar with a unique 360 view of the city, floor to ceiling, and includes a 15 metre bar and external terraces.

House is now more accessible
to Manchester foodies’

One of the highlights on offer is the Chef’s Table, an opportunity to experience the ultimate culinary front row seat. Looking straight into the open kitchen, the Chef’s Table seats up to six guests and is available for lunch and dinner.

Aiden cooks the taster menu with guests opting for either the six (£60 per person) or twelve course (£90 per person) at lunch and just the twelve course taster menu at dinner.

The exclusive restaurant has just launched a new lunch menu to make a more accessible – seriously delicious and reasonably priced – two courses at £22.50 and three courses at £27.50 served daily Tuesday-Saturday from 12-2:30pm.

Looking directly into the open kitchen, this is food theatre at its best, as Aiden cooks for you and explains the various dishes and techniques. Likewise his team in the kitchen are only too happy to show their pride in the award winning dishes they create.

We enjoyed a host of dishes such as Crab Risotto; Grilled Carrot and Fennel, Skyr Yoghurt and Wild Boar Ham; Red Mullet, Leek and Potato, Shellfish Consommé; Squab Pigeon, Scottish Girolles and English Broad Beans. There followed an array of technicolour desserts such as Mango and Lime Parfait, Summer Fruits, Strawberry Sorbet and Chocolate, Cherry and Chai.

Each dish was paired with a complimenting wine. Castro Martin Albarino 2013 (Spainish); Cave De Hunawihr Pinot Gris 2013 (French); L.A.S. Vino Chardonnay 2013 (Australian); Pinot Noir Spatburgunder August Kesseler 2011 (German) and for dessert Sauternes Chateau Petit Vedrines 2011 (French) followed by a Japanese Plum Sake.

Just exquisite. It’s great that Manchester House is now more accessible to Manchester foodies. Treat yourself to a luxury lunch from just £22.50.
