Northern Quarter bar hosts UK’s first lunch beat…
Lunch time dance phenomenon Lunch Beat is set to launch in the UK for the first time on 31st May in Manchester.
Always the city of creative innovation Manchester embraced the Lunch Beat ethos immediately with over 1000 people already signed up to attend the event in just two weeks.
15 cities from all over Europe will become one to stream the events live from their locations as organisers aim to create a simultaneous dance floor across the world in an attempt to unify dancers in real time regardless of their location.
The event will take place at Black Dog Ballroom, corner Tib Street and Church Street, between 1-2pm and all dancers will have one hour to dance and enjoy the music played my Lunch Beat MCR organiser and DJ Marvin Speakman. An example of the music Marvin will play can be found here: http://soundcloud.com/marvinspeakman/lunchbeat-minimix.
The simultaneous events will all be digitally live streamed with Bambuser to www.lunchbeat.org open for anyone to watch.
From it’s humble beginnings in 2010 with fourteen people dancing in a car park in central Sweden, the Lunch Beat phenomenon has now spread on a global scale, been covered in world and national press, even recently getting a mention on Oprah Winfrey’s blog.
