‘I’m bored!’ Those two little words can strike fear into mums and dads when the little ones are having a break from school. Well fear not, because intu Trafford Centre is here to help. It’s about so much more than shopping, and a day out in its spectacular surroundings is just the ticket to keep the whole family entertained. So, to help you plan your visit we’ve put together our top 10 reasons to bring the family to the shopping mecca for a day out this half term.

Free fun filled half-term activities

The events team will be whipping up a tasty week filled with fun cooking activities for all your little chefs. There’s foodie arts and crafts on the menu every day from pizza making to delicious desserts plus some very special classes at our favourite restaurants. And it’s all free! Find out more here.

Seven thrilling leisure venues in one place

Where can you catch an iMax 3D blockbuster movie, come nose to nose with sharks and turtles, jump into the biggest box of Lego® bricks ever, bowl a strike, ride the dodgems, tee off in a tropical golfing paradise, play laser tag, rock climb and swing through the tree tops on a zip line? At intu Trafford Centre, that’s where.

Delicious child-friendly dining

We know all of the 60 restaurants do tons of super yummy food for little ones. But don’t just take our word for it. The team at intu Trafford Centre asked the very people who know children’s food the best – kids. A team of mini restaurant reviewers have undertaken the massive job of trying hundreds of tasty treats. Pick up a kids dining guide from the info pods in centre or download a copy here.

Fun buggies and pushchairs

There are three miles of shop fronts at intu Trafford Centre. That’s quite a stretch for little legs so there’s a newly upgraded fleet of fun buggies for little drivers – including mini police cars and cool little sports models. Left your pushcair at home? No problem. Mamas & Papas pushchairs are available to hire for tired out tiny tots.

Barney Bear

Did you know the shopping centre has its very own bear on the team? Barney Bear tours the centre in his little orange car every day spreading joy and laughter throughout the centre. He’s so popular they’ve even given him his own club for kids to join and it’s free!

The dolphin fountain

Wander down lower Peel Avenue and you’re likely to see a little crowd gathering around the very special dolphin fountain as every few minutes it shoots a spectacular water jet up into the roof. Throw a coin in to the water and make a wish. All the coins are collected and given to nominated local charities.

Free parking

intu Trafford Centre has free parking for 11,500 cars, including parent and child spaces offering safe and direct access for families with little ones. So park up in the morning and spend as long as you like having fun – it’s free!

Crèche and play area

Sometimes mums and dads need some time out to do some serious shopping and the fully qualified nursery assistants in the crèche are standing by and ready to care for your 2-9 year olds. If you want to stay and join in the fun, a huge play area is equipped with a massive ball pool, slides, climbing nets, tube crawls, rope swings and much more. There’s also party packages available for birthday girls and boys.

Parent & baby rooms and child safe shopping

When a nappy needs changing, mummy needs a rest, or a toddler needs taming, the parent and baby rooms are on hand to give you a calming and peaceful environment. You’ll also find all you need to take care of your little one in each of the award winning toilet blocks. The centre is a super-safe place for family shopping but sometimes little ones can get lost. The friendly team is on hand to help with everything from free wristbands to top tips for parents and kids. There’s even a hotline number should you need assistance.

TRAFFORDCITY

After you’ve spent the day at intu Trafford Centre, why not explore more amazing leisure and entertainment right on the doorstep? TRAFFORDCITY is the new destination brand for the area and includes Chill Factore indoor ski slope, Trafford Golf Centre, Chill Factore ski slope, iFLY indoor sky diving and Oxygen Freejumping to name a few. Plus there’s a range of hotels should you decide to make a weekend of it.
