If you think wine tastings and pairing evenings can sometimes feel a little, erm…. intimidating, snobby and bewildering, Open Kitchen is putting on a wine tasting evening with a difference.
The Open Kitchen team are big believers in being inclusive, so they thought they’d take all the snobbery, and quite frankly the class, out of a wine tasting evening, by putting two major food groups together – wine and crisps.
On the evening, their good friend Nathan Fiske from C&O Wines will be pairing beautiful wines with the likes of Wotsits, Frazzles, and some Monster Munch at Open Kitchen’s Cafe & Bar at People’s History Museum on 22nd September.
The principle will be the same as any other wine tasting…. learn about each wine and see how they complement different flavours with a range of classic snacks.
Tickets are priced at £27.54 per person (includes booking fee) and cover five different wines paired with popular snack foods. For those who need a few more carbs to soak up the plonk, a small plates menu will be available to buy on the evening as well as further drinks from the bar.
And because this is Open Kitchen, sustainability and ethics will still be at the heart of the event. C&O Wines have selected a range of small, independent, family-run or cooperative owned vineyards, and wineries that have organic or minimal intervention methods at their core.
The entire evening will be suitable for vegetarians, although some snacks may not be suitable for vegans. If any guests have any specific dietary requirements but would like to attend, get in touch with Open Kitchen and they’ll source some snack alternatives.
