The Crepe & Waffle House is opening soon in Manchester, offering sweet as well as savoury crepes and waffles, with options for vegan, gluten-free and halal diners.

All dishes are made fresh daily, with all elements made in-house, and the menu is split into three sections.

Savoury Ones presents nine dishes that begin with a classic French crepe or a bubble waffle, before being loaded up with different flavour combinations.

The Sweet Chilli Chicken One offers a taste of Thailand, a crepe filled with chicken breast, stir-fried vegetables on a bed of rocket, and layered with sweet chilli sauce and fresh chilli.

The Hunters Chicken One puts a spin on the French classic Chicken Chasseur, offering sliced chicken breast, crisp streaky bacon, melted cheddar and hickory smoked BBQ sauce with rocket, wrapped up in a crepe.

Classic style crepes include The Breakfast One with cheese, sausages, streaky bacon and tomatoes seasoned with black pepper and chives, or take the meat out to make it veggie.

Gluten-free guests can go for The Croque One – a gluten-free waffle stacked with cheddar cheese, smoked ham, Dijon mayonnaise and rocket.

And for those who love a savoury and sweet mishmash, The Fried Chicken One takes a bubble waffle topped with Southern style fried chicken goujons and crispy streaky bacon, plus lashings of maple syrup.

The Hoisin One, a Chinese inspired vegan crepe, is filled with mock duck, hoisin sauce and stir-fried vegetables, sprinkled with black and white sesame and spring onions, while The Falafel One encases homemade humous, sweet potato falafel, stir-fried vegetables, creamy harissa spiced sauce and rocket.

As each dish is made to order, there’s the opportunity to request other dishes be made vegan.

The Sweet Ones section includes waffles and crepes loaded with a choice of Biscoff, Reese’s, M&Ms, Oreo, Crunchie, fresh berries, banana, chocolate and toffee sauce, and ice cream, or keep it simple with freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar.

Light and fluffy vegan American pancakes feature on the menu, in addition to gluten-free sweet waffles.

A dedicated Shakes section offers flavours of Pavlova to Brownie, Banoffee and Cookies & Cream.

A vegan Shake is also available, choose from strawberry, chocolate and vanilla plant based ice cream.

The Crepe & Waffle House will also offer specials, they say, informed by the seasons and annual celebrations.

Mancunian founder and managing director, Dominic Bowers, launched the first Crepe & Waffle House in North Staffordshire in 2020 straight after the first lockdown, setting his sights for its next location in his original hometown Manchester.

The Crepe & Waffle House Manchester will initially launch as a delivery service, but Dominic’s aspiration is to open a dedicated restaurant in the near future.

“We all know and love fried chicken with waffles but what’s restraining us from experimenting with savoury combinations as much as we do sweet?” he said.

“The Crepe & Waffle House offers all the classic indulgent sweet crepes and waffles but what makes us stand out is our extensive menu of savoury options.

“All made in-house, from scratch, our menu is super inclusive to cater for different taste preferences and dietary requirements.

“Being a Mancunian, I’ve always had an affinity for the area, and I love to see that the city is thriving more than ever now.

“We are thrilled to bring The Crepe & Waffle House to Manchester, where we’ll be delivering our incredible crepes and waffles for now, but we hope to soon have our own restaurant where our customers can relax and indulge in the delicious comfort food that we love to make.”

The Crepe and Waffle House will launch on 13th July, and be available to order from Deliveroo within a 5 mile radius of Manchester city centre, delivering from 4pm to 10pm, Wednesday to Sunday. The Crepe & Waffle House will also launch on Uber Eats in the next couple of weeks. To commemorate the launch, they are offering 25% off any orders over £20 for their first month
