The former KRO Bar site in Heaton Moor is about to be transformed into another Tusk.

The site has been acquired by MAD Ltd (Mark Andrew Developments), the people behind the bar of the same name in the Northern Quarter as well as a number of popular venues including Infamous Diner, Rosylee, Walrus, The Fitzgerald and Hula.

But they are promising it will be a very different concept to the African-inspired cocktail bar in the city centre.

Full details are still under wraps, but they have promised the new site will be contemporary and cool, with a focus on delicious drinks and modern cuisine. They’ll even be serving fresh cuppas every morning from Ancoats Coffee.

“As well as a fresh new look, we can promise residents a good dose of our MAD flair, with inventive cocktails, quality food and a range of food, drink and music-led events,” says managing director Mark Andrew.

“I’ve lived in Heaton Moor for the last 23 years, so to be able to bring our latest food and drink concept here is very exciting for me personally, and for the rest of the team who have a lot of love for the area.”
