47 King Street West now booking for Christmas

The summer’s over, which means the shops will soon be putting up their Christmas decorations. Christmas is the highlight of the year for many people. A time to eat, drink and be merry. It might feel a bit early to start making plans for your party or works do, but we know from experience that the best places get fully booked pretty quickly.
One of our favourite restaurants is now taking Christmas bookings – 47 King Street West. In the relatively short time it’s been open, 47 KSW has built a reputation of being one of the finest restaurants in Manchester, serving lovely food prepared by the very talented chef (and local lad) Rod Francis in a convivial atmosphere at prices that won’t worry your bank manager. If you don’t believe us, just Google them and take a look at the reviews.
The problem with their Christmas menu is that it looks so good you might be spoilt for choice. There are six starters to choose from including home cured salmon, pan-fried pigeon breast and honey and thyme roasted peaches. For mains, you can choose from seven dishes including oven-baked lamb rump, pan-fried sea bass and roasted butternut squash and plum tomato risotto, not forgetting the traditional oven roast turkey with all the trimmings. Finish with a choice of six desserts including vanilla crème brulee, sticky toffee pudding or Christmas pudding (natch).
Lunch is priced at a very reasonable £21.95 and dinner at £29.95. And if you book your Christmas party on a Monday or Tuesday in December it’s even better value – you get a 20% discount. That means 17.95 for a three course lunch and £23.95 for dinner.
And if you book for a party of 10 or more, you will receive a complimentary meal for you and a companion in January.
