Where to watch Wimbledon in style in Manchester

If you want to watch Wimbledon without having to trek down south, you’ll be glad to know that there are many places in the city showing the tennis. And many of them are putting on a range of deals for you to enjoy. 

First Street

A giant TV screen has been set up on First Street so you can sit in the open-air an enjoy dedicated Wimbledon coverage.  An ice-cream van has also arrived in the form of Ginger’s Comfort Emporium, providing seriously inventive ice cream flavours. Pop into one  of the areas bars like The Laundrette (try a Quick Wash lunch £8) and The Liquor Store for a refreshing tipple or two.

Spinningfields 

Spinningfields Summer Screenings will be starting with a fortnight of uninterrupted Wimbledon coverage on a big screen outside the Oast House from the first match onwards, plus cult classic film nights every Tuesday from July 18th. They are also showing other seasonal highlights such as the World Athletics Championships. It is non-ticketed and The Oast House food and drinks menu will be available to order via the QKR smartphone app, served directly to your seat.

The Green

With 8 HD screens, The Green really is Manchester’s premier sports bar. They will be showing Wimbledon matches in a place you can really relax – with a no-fuss menu, bar and gaming options, including Xbox. Just a short walk from Piccadilly Station and complete with a canal-side beer garden, you can be sure to settle down here.

Walkabout

This big Oz-inspired bar in The Printworks is showing Wimbledon live – complete with some of the best drinks deals in the city. You can also enjoy the Aussie lunch offer with selected meals and a drink at just £6, 12-5pm during the week.

Shooters

Sports bar Shooters in The Printworks has a smashing offer which means you won’t miss a shot with pitchers of Pimms just £7.95 – a proper summer drink complete with strawberries. All the live action will be shown on one of the biggest non-cinema screens in the city over Wimbledon fortnight, starting with the first round matches on Monday July 3 right through to the women’s and men’s finals on the weekend of July 15 and 16.

Cafe Football

It’s not just football on the screens at this colourful cafe-bar in the National Football Museum and Hotel Football, Old Trafford. They are also screening live coverage of the tennis.  Sit down with your drink of choice and enjoy great food and company.

Dive NQ

Come down to this roomy underground bar for a brilliant place to watch all the tennis action. They are showing Wimbledon on HD screens and there’s plenty of food and drink offers including a Dive-In-Deal weekdays 12-5pm. That’s £7 for either a burger and sides or half a roast chicken, plus a range of booze offers from as little as £2.

The ultimate place to spend a Wimbledon-inspired afternoon, this Castlefield bar and kitchen has plenty of space for you to sit back, relax and enjoy the tennis.  Watch the tennis whilst you enjoy a Frosé – that’s Rosé wine shaken over ice with Finlandia vodka and strawberry pureé. I say!
