ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is supported by the I Love MCR Foundation and championed at the I Love MCR Power Awards
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the Army’s national charity and is here for soldiers, veterans, and their families for life. The charity is one of the largest funders in the military charity sector, supporting 60,000 people and funding over 43 charities across 63 countries last year. The charity supports the Army family through life’s challenges, whether that involves bereavement, injury, getting back to work, elderly care and much more besides. Last year, beneficiaries ranged in age from two to 103.
From helping wounded soldiers to adapt to life after service, to assisting elderly veterans to keep their independence, we’re here for the Army family when they need us. We offer support in six key areas: independent living, elderly care, education and employability, mental fitness, families and housing.
All serving soldiers, veterans and their immediate families should have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.

Exploring the War Memorials of Greater Manchester
This year is the 70th Jubilee of our Patron, HM The Queen and so we will be challenging you to visit 70 selected memorials, spread across Greater Manchester, over a 2-week period, to record your findings and to share your experience. You will be amazed at the variety of memorials to be found – big, small, hidden or in full public view.
*The challenger is encouraged to spread the word about the challenge to their networks, fundraise and encourage people to donate, however, I Love MCR will be promoting the initiative and helping to gather donations.
