One of Manchester's beloved sports bars has had a name change, and it's all to support a chock-a-block summer of Women's sport

This summer, one of Manchester’s most-loved sports bars is getting a makeover, and it’s all for the love of the game.

Say goodbye (for now) to The Brotherhood, and raise a glass to The Sisterhood, the bold rebrand celebrating an unstoppable summer of women’s sport, from the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 to the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

With Lionesses fever about to grip the country once again, the Mount Street venue is going all-in to champion representation, inclusivity, and good old-fashioned matchday joy.

With the addition of confetti cannons, live sax players, and a free pint of Heineken when England scores their first tournament goal.

“It’s more than a name change,” said Seema Dhiman, founder and director of the bar.

“The Sisterhood is a celebration. It’s a statement of solidarity and a way of throwing our full support behind the women taking centre stage this summer. We want to give fans a space that’s loud, inclusive and rooted in community.”

And that support goes way beyond just showing the matches on screen. Backed by Heineken and proudly partnered with the Her Game Too campaign, a grassroots movement tackling sexism in sport, The Sisterhood is doing things differently.

Things officially kick off on Saturday, 5th of July, when the Lionesses face France in their opening Euro 2025 clash. To honour the moment, every customer in the bar will get a free pint of Heineken when England scores their first goal of the tournament, whether it’s a cheeky tap-in or a back-post belter.

Throughout the Euros, the venues will be decked out with Sisterhood bunting, giveaways, and table favours for fans.

Expect themed food and drink promos, live music before and after matches, and an electric atmosphere every time England takes to the pitch.

From the pitch to the pub

The Sisterhood campaign began back in 2022 during the Women’s Euros and returns bigger and bolder this year.

The aim? To make women’s sport feel just as celebrated, hyped and attended as any men’s tournament, and to do it with style.

And it won’t stop at the final whistle of the Euros. From August, all eyes turn to the Women’s Rugby World Cup, taking place right here in England for the very first time. The Sisterhood will be showing every game, throwing full support behind England’s Red Roses, and keeping the celebratory atmosphere going right through September.

“We want everyone to feel welcome, whether you’re a lifelong fan, a new supporter, or just here for the vibes and a decent pint,” said Seema. “It’s about bringing people together and saying: women’s sport deserves to be front and centre, and we’re here for it.”

Backing her game too

In addition to the fanfare, The Sisterhood will shine a light on Her Game Too, a campaign launched by female fans in 2021 to tackle sexism and misogyny in football.

Now supported by more than 75 Premier League and EFL clubs, the initiative is making real change in the world of sport, and The Sisterhood is proud to be on board.

“We’re supporting Her Game Too because we believe sport should be for everyone,” said Seema. “If we can be a platform for that message, and help create a place where every supporter feels safe and seen, then that’s something to be proud of.”

The Sisterhood backs women’s sport

So whether you’re cheering on the Lionesses, backing the Red Roses, or just up for a cracking afternoon out with mates, this summer The Sisterhood is the place to be.

Come for the goals. Stay for the movement. Welcome to The Sisterhood.
