The roast with the most: Albert Square Chop House launch new Sunday roasts made for sharing

Whilst there’s no shortage of top Manchester restaurants offering up a good Sunday roast, Albert Square Chop House has taken it one step further and created a Sunday menu that’s designed to be shared, just like you would at home.

When we heard they were launching a brand new Sunday roast sharer menu this weekend, we decided to volunteer for a bit of testing and quality control. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

Using only the finest, locally-sourced produce from ethical suppliers Farmison and My Fish Company, the new menu features 800g cuts of 21-day dry-aged heritage breed beef from the Yorkshire Dales, a 1.5kg whole roasted chicken with confit legs and a 1kg pot of Shetland rope-grown mussels, steamed and served with Chop House chips.

Order the beef as an 800g T-bone or an 800g bone-in ribeye for your table and enjoy a team feast with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, greens, carrot and swede mash and a jug of proper roast beef gravy. Or opt for a whole chicken and tuck into a mountain of roasties, stuffing, chipolatas, greens, carrot and swede mash and a big jug of proper chicken gravy. All designed for three people to share – two if you’re feeling ambitious – there’s plenty to get stuck into here.

If you haven’t visited before, expect a convivial, family-friendly atmosphere. This isn’t a loud pub but a proper family restaurant. Speaking of which, if your little ones are the sort who object to dining from the kid’s menu, they’ll be more than happy here. Serving up proper food for little people, all the new Sunday roast dishes are available to order as smaller children’s portions too.
