And down on The Avenue, where shops are gradually making way for bars as the locals vote with their feet (and livers), the word on the street is that Living Ventures are set to expand The Alchemist into the now-closed All Saints unit, doubling their capacity to 250 covers in the process.
Tim Bacon told us: “The Alchemist is a wonderful brand. It is just the most amazing brand with a very high turnover. How much? About £50k a week.
“We’re looking to take 2000 square feet with the All Saints unit next door by the end of this year.”
