All the way from the streets of Bangkok, Thaikhun hosts a VIP party. Opening in The Avenue last week, Thaikun held a soiree exclusive to Manchester’s VIP on Thursday night.

“The Thai word ‘Khun’ means ‘yours’ which is the main theme of THIAKHUN”

Sawasdee kha (hello in Thai), welcoming local press and influential folk on the entrance to a cocktail and Thai canapé frenzy in the Spinningfields unit.

A speech and special story of the Thai street food sellers who are real foodie entrepreneurs by directors Michael and Kim, announced a Ladyboy show from ambassadors of the brand. Dancing and miming to a kitsch ‘Welcome To Thailand’ tune, the ladies even pulled a few lucky boys from the audience for a lap dance.

New and exciting, this casual dining restaurant offers fresh, healthy ingredients and recipes from the world-renowned street food stalls of Bangkok. Joint owner, Kim Kaewkraikhot, is renowned in Thailand for creating meals bursting with flavour and wanted to bring a truly authentic and unique dining experience to the UK.

The Thai word ‘Khun’ means ‘yours’ which is the main theme of THIAKHUN – an eating experience with traditional dishes and authentic rustic interiors shipped in all the way from Thailand.

Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London, said; “Our vision to introduce an exciting mix of high quality, independent eateries on to The Avenue is being realised with the arrival of Thaikhun. Spinningfields is the go-to destination in Manchester for both restaurants and bars and we’re keen to continue to enhance our offering – the introduction of Thaikhun is giving the estate something new and different and complements our existing offering.”

Kim Kaewkraikhot, joint owner of THAIKHUN, said: “My passion is to bring authentic Thai dishes from the streets of Bangkok to the streets of the UK. Pronounced ‘tycoon’ the name celebrates the street food sellers who are real foodie entrepreneurs. I am really looking forward to sharing more signature dishes transported all the way from my cooking roots in Thailand.”

The Thai Leisure Group currently owns and operates ‘Chaophraya’, a successful group of restaurants recognised and valued nationwide. Since opening their first restaurant in 2005, a niche market of Thai gourmet dining in prime locations, has swept the UK. All Chaophraya restaurants are within statement buildings, individually themed. You will recognise consistencies across the group, but each restaurant maintains integrity with an injection of its own individuality.
