Different sectors have been affected in different ways by the pandemic in Manchester – and whether positively or negatively, each business has a unique story to tell.

Manchester based taxi firm Street Cars have not only been able to stay open and operating this past difficult year, but have played a major part in the city’s fight against the coronavirus.

Their fleet has been out and about, offering a reliable mode of transportation to get key essential workers from A to B – and giving them a 20% discount to boot.

A plaque was installed outside of their Chorlton Street based office showing gratitude to the NHS, part of collaboration with Robinsons FM and Shoot Business.

Street Cars were also responsible for delivering food parcels for the elderly to their homes, helping those who have been deemed most vulnerable within society in wake of the pandemic.

The friendly team has helped ensure our grandparents and great grandparents had access to food essentials, safely and efficiently, when they were unable to leave the house.

And the firm also lent a helping hand to other community initiatives, including sponsoring a local youth football team, Cheetham Hill Juniors.

Street Cars plan to stay open and operate whatever next year throws at them, all while continuing to help the local community with their charitable endeavours.

Booking a ride with them has never been easier thanks to their brand new smartphone app, with benefits including 20% off every trip and cashless payments.

You don’t need to enter your location as the app can pick it up automatically – and you can share your location with friends and family as an added safety feature, too.

Street Cars Manchester have played a vital role in our everyday life this year, becoming local heroes through what has been an incredibly difficult year.

Without them, navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic would have been unthinkably more difficult.

Thank you, Street Cars.
