They all boast enviable decor, brilliant lighting and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy along with your double shot cup of Joe. Whether you’re in the market for an aesthetically pleasing place to catch up with friends, the perfect cappuccino, or just want to rack up those likes on the ‘gram, these java joints will do the trick.

Here’s where to get the best shots in Manchester – both the espresso and the iPhone variety. Warning. May contain irony.

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’d just walked through the doors of a boho café on the sidestreets of Brooklyn. The décor is minimal and clean cut but quirky with plant baskets hanging above tables and aesthetically pleasing bare brick walls. The coffee is strong and the crowds here know how to have a good time. Most importantly, each brew gets the signature Evelyn’s floret treatment so you know it’s going to look good on your feed. The café also overlooks the trendy streets of the Northern Quarter and the seating area gets a ton of natural light so you won’t have to lie when using the hashtag #nofilter.

Fig and Sparrow

You might fight for a seat in this little craft shop coffee destination but it’s worth it – especially if you snag a stool by the window where the Instagram options are endless. The décor is arty and there are enough reclaimed and independent local design pieces to bring a tear to Frank Lloyd Wright’s eye. After the baristas have brewed you a solid cup of Joe, grab a book from the bookshelf next to the counter. If you want to get the money shot, open it on a relatively interesting page, place your beverage beside it and get snapping. Even if you’re not an intellectually creative bookworm, a couple of shots here might trick your followers into thinking otherwise.

Another Heart to Feed

Look at this coffee. I mean, look at it. And the dark wood table with the whitewashed walls and the plant pots and the very aesthetic décor. It’s stunning even without the Valencia filter. This Melbourne-inspired coffee shop is new on the market. It opened just last month but it’s already making surfer style waves. It is gloriously minimalist in both its design and offerings. Think rich classic espresso brews sans the kitschy caramel swirl. To get the ideal picture, grab a shot of your beverage looking down at the Pinterest-worthy coffee tables. Once you’re done taking photos, head straight to the counter and order yourself an acai bowl because it’s probably one of the best you’ll taste outside of Oz.

Pot Kettle Black

Pot Kettle Black is the perfect spot to grab yourself a pick-me-up during the dreaded 2pm slump at work. It’s also the perfect spot to get that Instagram feed on point. The florets on the coffees are probably some of the best in Manchester. If you want to get yourself the money shot, order yourself a fancy caffeinated beverage (which comes served on a quirky metal tray with a chocolate wafer), take the good stuff to a window seat and take your snap either facing down or at an angle to get a glimpse of Barton Arcade’s aesthetic interior. Watch those likes rack up.

Foundation

Foundation coffee house has simplicity down to a science. To grab the perfect picture, pick from the shop’s plethora of specialist coffees and cold brews and pull out a stool by the window. The natural lighting teamed with the slick walls and simplistic bare light bulb accents creates the perfect instagrammable photo opp. The space is pretty bare bones and the minimally decorated tables when shot from above create a brilliant backdrop to get that perfectly curated coffee shot. They even sell coffee mags and #coffeeiseverything tote bags to throw into your feed. Winner.
